The Fault In Our Stars

Book Title:The Fault In Our Stars
Author: John Green
Genres: YA, Romance, cancer related, friction, contemporary
Language: English
Published on: 3rd January 2013

Goodreads

Description:

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.

Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning author John Green's most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

My Thoughts:

I liked the book, It was good, got to know a lot about cancer patients and their struggles but its not my cup of tea. I already saw the movie and liked it too, so a lot of elements were not surprising. It didn't made me cry, instead it made me confused. whether I really like it or not. I am still confused about it. I liked the humor in the book a lot more towards the end. The second half or the sad part of the book was more interesting than the starting chapters. The writer had written so many good things, I will give to him for that but as a sad love story hmmm, nope it was that appealing. It would have been better if it was not cancer, then I can digest the story-line. Definitely not reading it again but will like to quote this book, that were some damn good lines. About characters in this story I liked Gus but not Hazel. Her sense of humor is good but she is bitchy sometimes, may be some will blame it on her cancer but still one should not be that rude to her loved ones. And Gus definitely is a good book boyfriend(funny, loving, caring and understanding).
Recommended to those who like sad ,star crossed love stories.

My rating:

I give this book 3.5 stars out of 5.

If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she'll serve the kingdom for four years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she's bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her... but it's the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.

Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

My Thoughts:

After so long I am giving a book 5 star rating. That's how much I liked this book. I loved it and I am going to buy every damn book by Sarah J Mass. She is officially my new favorite author. What was I doing all these years without reading her books???.
The things I loved about book:
1) The plot
2)Main lead (Celaena)
3)lead Boys (Dorian more than Chaol)
4)The writing style of author
I am sure I am forgetting something but thats pretty much it. Basically I loved everything about this book. I liked how she a badass assassin but the same time she is girlish. Most of us are so use to badass girl character to be like male version of Batman or something where they are brooding and no fun. No, That doesnt work for me. One can be badass and girlish at the same time right?. Celaena is like that. Her self-centered, arrogant, sassy and girly behavior make her more original than all those self-righteous main lead heroins of some YA novels. One is not always perfect, some have bad habits and bad nature but the one who overcome those things and do good are more like my idols. If you are into a badass woman assassin with little bit of girl qualities then you should definitely read it.

My Thoughts:

wow just Wow...Friendship, Love and Betrayal ?!!! It contains all of them. This book was like a beautiful journey. I liked the way it ended, leaving the readers to think about the book after several hours of completing it. I completed this book in afternoon and I am still thinking about what to do with me now. I can't help thinking about all the characters. Its like they have become real person... I am laughing and crying with them.
This book has left me with happy and sad thoughts at the same time. Happy for Charlotte and Henry and Sophie too. But I can't decide whether I am happy for Jem or Sad for Will.
I was team Will from starting and I am so heartbroken for her. AGGHH I really hate love triangles. But they are good to add drama in the story and because of it I also like it. Oh God what to do with me now. This book had just made the story way more interesting than it was before. I liked it better than last one. I am really looking forward to read the last book in the series.

I give this book 4 stars out of 5.

My Thoughts:

My first book of Cassandra Clare and I am impressed. It was good read and I enjoyed the book. Even though I excepted a lot more but I guess historic genre is not my cup of tea so I am gonna read this series as fast as could so that I can read The Mortal Instruments series. But Clare wrote this one very well, I can see a lot thought was put into the book. I heard a lot about these series therefore I read them and I am not regretting it. I like the plot and characters. The start was very slow for me but I really enjoyed it after few chapters. I am sucker for fantasies and bookboyfriends who are witty. I guess I am in love with Will and I am jealous of Tessa. Anyways definitely a good book should read it. I highly recommend it if you are into historical novels.

Books I read In 2015

Hello everyone, today I decided to write about the books I read in 2015. I know, I know I am Very late in publishing this post but you know I am very lazy and when I start reading book I forgot about the world. So, I read a total of 48 books. My reading challenge of Goodreads in year 2015 was 101 books but because of my busy schedule I was only able to read 48 out of them. Most of them were adult novels which were highly recommended in my book clubs and some where the sequels of the books I really liked reading in 2014.

I will just mention the books and will tell about it a little bit. Even though I tried my best for shortening it ,its still lengthy. So please try to read it till end patiently. The list will be according to the order of time I read them(mostly).

1.Dark Reunion AND NightFall(The vampire Diaries) by L. J. Smith

This is the 4th and 5th book in The Vampire Diaries series by L. J. Smith. Honestly I tried to read the book because of the TV series TVD. But I was not very impressed by the story. I liked the TV series better than the book. I was having so much tough time finishing it, and then I stopped reading the other books in the series.

2. Hidden Wings(Hidden Wings) by Cameo Renae

This is Fantasy series about Demons, angels and warriors. Its a short and nice books which can be completed in one sitting. Cameo had written them very well from love triangles to cliff hangers and it also contains humor. On the whole its a good read.

3. Anna And The French Kiss Series by Stephanie Perkins

Anna and the french kiss series by Stephanie Perkins is a contemporary novel. These were highly recommended by my book clubs so I read them. Each book can be read as stand alone, they are not linked according to the stories. Each book is different in its own manner.

4. Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh

This series is my favorite series of 2015. I really loved everything about this series from plot to characters to the twist, just everything. This is an adult paranormal romance series by Nalini Singh. It also includes sci-fi and shapeshifter genre, therefore everything you want in a book. I highly recommend it it really great books about a future world with mind powers.

5. Fashionably Dead in Diapers by Robyn Peterman

If you haven't read the Fashionably Dead series then you have to read ASAP. Its hilarious as hell. Its an adult paranormal series about vampires. demons and angels and yes God and satan too. I never laughed so hard while reading any book except for this series. I can't wait to read the other books in the series.

6.Five Point Someone:What Not To Do At IIT by Chetan Bhagat

This book is about IIT student who struggles to keep up his grades, a fight against the education system. I read this book just because my friends said its related to a very good movie. So I thought the book will be great. But its not. I really didn't like this book at all. Yes the idea was good but I had really hard time completing this one. The movie was much better because that doesn't related to it.

7.The Hallow(Hercule Poirot-25) by Agatha Christie

This Hercule Poirot book of Agatha Christie is my first read by her. Like other of Hercule Poirot books this was also a crime book. It was good but not what I expected. I really had great expectations about her books. But still I will try to read some more of her books.

8.Forever and Always Series(#9 to #21) by E. L. Todd

I am in love with the characters in this book series. Some times I want to strangle them because of their stupidity and sometimes I want kiss them for their love for each other. This is adult friction book about some friends and their friendship and love. I love them, they are short and can be read in one afternoon . The book has humor, love, erotica, suspense, friendship and family.

9. A Romance With Chaos by Nishant Kaushik

A Romance With Chaos is really good book. Its about a guy and his struggles in IT job. This book depicts the struggles of an employee and the competition in this world where friends turn into our biggest rivals.

10.Iced and Burned (Fever series) by Karen Marie Moning

Another of my favorite series. These two hotties are the books of Fever series. The fever books are about humans Vs Fae. This is also my highly recommended series if you haven't read it please go read it now they are amazing. The plot, characters and twist... omg the twist and cliff hangers are to die for.

11. The Academy : The Ghost Bird Series by C L Stone

The Ghost Bird series is an unique story about a girl who is shy and have insecurities and the nine academy boys. This book has suspense and thrillers. I like this series so far and looking forward to the other books in the series.

12. Enchanted Awakening by Alanna Wilson

I don't know why I thought it read this book, may be because it was free on kindle. The imagination and romance was fine but the story-line is very confusing. It was boring made me hate fantasy novels, really!

So those where my 2015 reads. I will really try hard to read more books this year. Hope I can complete my goodreads challenge this year. I challenged myself to read 80 books but I want to read at least 10 more books then that. I am going to maintain TBR pile per month so that I can get time to reread some of my favorite series. Wish me luck.
