Goodreads
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a story about what it’s like to travel that strange course through the uncharted territory of high school. The world of first dates, family dramas, and new friends. Of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Of those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up.
I don't know why I took so long to read this book. I really loved it. The writing style of Author was great. After reading so many YA books about teenagers acting like they are "not-teenagers" and fighting for the world against unknown dangers. I use to feel that these characters are not at all behaving like teenagers. But Charlie is exactly what teenagers are like. Well almost.
Teenage that too between 16-18 years is the age where they are not Children and not Adult . The struggle between thinking like adult but can't act like one is all this book is about. The author had described all the thoughts and struggles faced by a teenager even if he/she is happy on outside.
Its one time read but a must read.
I give this book 5 stars out of 5.
